LGA conference 2016

On the 5th of July representatives from Local Partnerships headed to Bournemouth, with newly branded umbrellas to protect them come rain or shine, for the annual LGA conference.

Conference came at a time of considerable change following the vote to leave the European Union and the halls and stands were filled with stimulating and useful discussions and debates about the current landscape and the future.

We were delighted to welcome so many colleagues to our stand at conference and speak face-to-face with current and new colleagues. If you dropped your business card in to the stand you should have received your own Local Partnerships mug by now – if not, please get in touch with Emma Bull.

Key themes we’ve been asked about post-conference centre around the delivery of housing, especially helping to unlock brownfield sites or establish partnerships with the private sector, as well as achieving value and greater savings in harder-to-reach areas. Our strategic position across national and local government gives our clients a unique insight into current best practice and market intelligence from across the UK, improving your chance to succeed.

Local Partnerships is a founder partner of the Housing and Finance institute (HFi). We were delighted to support the launch of a new brochure: “Are you housing business ready?” with HFi Chief Executive, Natalie Elphicke. Speaking on the platform at conference about the work being undertaken to increase housing supply Natalie said: “Councils are doing a fantastic job up and down the country… but we all need to do more.” She highlighted that conference hosts, Bournemouth Borough Council, had been one of the earliest councils to be awarded national Housing Business Ready status, showing their strong commitment to delivering housing.

Local Partnerships helps the public sector deliver major projects and change at the local level ensuring key priorities are delivered and clients secure excellent value for money.

Please do get in touch if there are any areas where you think Local Partnerships can assist, or if you would like copies of any of the literature that was displayed on our stand. You will also find downloadable versions available below:
