Local Partnerships at UKREiiF 2025: Empowering Regeneration Through Social Impact

UKREiiF – the UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum – has become the must-attend event for the real estate, property, and infrastructure sectors. Bringing together over 16,000 professionals from national and local government, investors, developers, occupiers, and the wider built environment industry, it’s where transformative conversations begin – and where Local Partnerships is proud to be driving social value through innovation.

Building Futures: How Prisoners Are Contributing to the UK’s Housing Needs

At UKREiiF 2025, Local Partnerships will spotlight a unique, forward-thinking initiative: ‘Prisoners Building Homes’ is a pioneering, cross-government programme that delivers high quality, low cost, modular homes built by prisoners.

Working with partners in government, industry, and the criminal justice system, our programme provides prisoners with the skills, qualifications, and hands-on experience needed for meaningful employment upon release.

Why ‘Prisoners Building Homes’ Matters

• Supports reintegration: Participants gain practical qualifications and job readiness, reducing reoffending rates.

• Delivers real homes: Housing units built as part of the programme are used for affordable and social housing needs.

• Builds capacity in the sector: Helps alleviate workforce challenges across the construction and housing supply chains.

• Aligns with levelling-up and net zero goals: Regenerates communities and promotes sustainable building practices.
