Clean energy skills plan to support workforce transition in North and North East Lincolnshire
We are proud to have played a pivotal role in advancing the Government’s Clean Energy mission in North and North East Lincolnshire, successfully developing a Clean Energy Skills Mapping Plan commissioned by the Midlands Net Zero Hub.
Local Partnerships has played a key role in North and North East Lincolnshire, supporting the Government’s Clean Energy mission. The Midlands Net Zero Hub, on behalf of the Office for Clean Energy Jobs, commissioned Local Partnerships to develop a Clean Energy Skills Mapping Plan to help workers in carbon intensive sectors move into to clean energy roles.
To develop the plan at pace, Local Partnerships undertook rapid engagement through in-person and online workshops with a range of local businesses, training providers, local authorities and trade unions to seek their views on local training needs and opportunities.
In parallel, the team completed a literature and research analysis of relevant national and local strategies to develop a holistic picture of the region’s priorities.
The culmination of the activity is a series of proposed interventions to deliver new training courses, develop funded bursaries for workers, co-ordinate delivery of local agencies and communicate the benefits of clean energy jobs.
The Office for Clean Energy Jobs has recently published the Clean Energy Jobs Plan which announced over £700,000 of funding to deliver the interventions in North and North East Lincolnshire.
