Appointment of Robert Razzell to the Local Partnerships Board

Local Partnerships formally announces the appointment of Robert Razzell to the Board of Local Partnerships LLP.

Robert will join the Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director and will also take on the role of Chair of the Audit Committee from 1 January 2025, following a transition period with the current incumbent, Susan Johnson, whose term will conclude at the end of January 2025.

Keith Fraser, Chair of the Board, said:

The Board is deeply grateful to Susan Johnson for her contribution to the success of Local Partnerships and to helping guide the organisation through many years. She will be missed, but we look forward very much to working with Robert.

Adele Gritten, Chief Executive, added:

Robert, currently serving as Chief Financial Officer at UK Government Investments, brings a wealth of experience and deep expertise. His knowledge and leadership will be invaluable to both the Board and the Audit Committee as we continue to drive Local Partnerships’ success.

Robert said

I am delighted to be joining Local Partnerships at a pivotal moment in its journey, as it works with clients across local and devolved government to deliver economic growth, net zero and the ambitious devolution agenda.

The recruitment process for this critical role attracted a highly skilled and diverse group of candidates. A selection panel, consisting of members from the Remuneration Committee, and supported by the Whitehall Industry Group, carried out a thorough and detailed evaluation of the candidates which was comprised of a distinguished and varied shortlist.

Susan Johnson has served on the Board for nine years including time as the Chair of the Audit Committee. Local Partnerships would like to extend their thanks and best wishes to Susan as she hands over the role to Robert.

Susan commented:

It has been a privilege to serve on the Board of Local Partnerships and to work alongside people who are passionate about public service and delivering public and social value. I will always be an ambassador for the great work that Local Partnerships delivers for local, regional, national and devolved governments and I will follow its continued success with pride.

The Board and Executive extend a warm welcome to Robert Razzell as he joins the team.
