Ynni Cymru: a further £8.27 million invested in clean energy projects across Wales
Local Partnerships proudly supports the delivery of Ynni Cymru – a Welsh Government programme that helps communities, businesses and public services to create and use their own clean energy.
The latest round of funding will provide £8.27 million to 24 organisations across Wales, allowing them to cut carbon emissions and save money on energy.
These organisations include:
- Renewable Power Pembrokeshire, supporting businesses and community buildings to use more locally produced power, increasing their energy resilience and potentially saving money on their bills
- Llanidloes District Energy Local Club in Powys, funding new solar panels, battery storage and electric vehicle charging points that allow households to make greater use of renewable electricity generated within their community
- Afanti Media in Cardiff, bringing cleaner power to festivals, cultural events and broadcasts across Wales.
As part of Ynni Cymru, Local Partnerships helps public bodies, community organisations, social enterprises and SMEs to develop Smart Local Energy Systems (SLES) that are practical, investable and deliver long-term local value.
We provide project scoping, feasibility, technical advice, commercial support, funding guidance, procurement, delivery planning and programme management. We also help organisations to review and improve the performance of existing renewable energy assets.
Since launching in 2023, Ynni Cymru has supported more than 80 projects across Wales and invested over £31 million.
