Official opening of Radyr Weir
On Tuesday 26 July the largest hydro-electric scheme in Wales was opened. The £2.6 million project uses the power of the River Taff to generate electricity, producing enough for an estimated 550 homes each year.
Local Partnerships’ Green Growth Wales team have helped with lessons learned from the procurement and are now looking to increase the value of the electricity with a local sales agreement.
Taking part in the event were:
- Craig Williams MP Cardiff North
- Cllr Patel Cabinet Member Planning Transport and Sustainability
- Cllr Mitchell Chair of Environmental Scrutiny
- Cllr Susan White Llandaff North
- Cllr Ben Thomas Whitchurch
