Oxfordshire County Council tops latest council climate scorecards

We are delighted to congratulate Oxfordshire County Council on being ranked first among all UK county councils in the latest Council Climate Scorecards.

This top ranking recognises the council’s ambitious and comprehensive approach to climate action, including their commitment to becoming carbon neutral by 2030, and their work across operational buildings, transport, renewable energy and finance innovation.

Ed Barlow, Director at Local Partnerships, said:

Local Partnerships is proud to have supported the council by assessing green finance options to accelerate delivery of its net zero programme.

Our work included analysis of opportunities for heat decarbonisation and retrofit, solar PV, heat networks, EV charging infrastructure, as well as different funding and delivery models.

It’s fantastic to see Oxfordshire’s leadership being recognised nationally, not only for the strength of their climate strategy but also for their commitment to delivery, demonstrating how councils can take bold, practical steps towards net zero while maintaining a clear focus on community impact and long-term resilience.
