Olya K-Mehri joined Local Partnerships in April 2024 as Assistant Director in Climate.
Olya’s work spans projects and programmes that drive progress in the circular economy, climate adaptation, healthy placemaking, infrastructure, retrofit, green finance, and the just transition. Her portfolio reflects a deep commitment to creating inclusive, resilient, and sustainable responses to climate change.
With a focus on ensuring that programmes deliver measurable impact through robust evaluation, she aligns outcomes with wider policy goals and organisational objectives. Olya has experience across the public sector, academia, think tanks, communications, and research leadership, and has led initiatives in environmental policy, programme design, and strategic planning. She has also represented organisations in partnerships with senior government stakeholders and other key collaborators, helping to build capacity and drive systems change.
At the heart of her work is a belief that the transition to a low-carbon economy must be both sustainable and fair, placing communities, energy equity, and social justice at the centre of climate action.
Alongside her role at LP, Olya is a researcher in environmental ethics and intergenerational justice, and serves as Centre Lead for the Centre for Climate, Migration and Place at the IDVRM.
