Niranjan Patel

Since joining Partnerships UK in 2007, and Local Partnerships for its inception in 2009, Niranjan Patel has been seconded full time to support Defra’s Waste Infrastructure Delivery Programme (WIDP).

Niranjan is the National Transactor Coordinator within WIDP and part of a team supporting 24 operational PFI projects funded by Defra. Within Defra he also provides analytical support for new policy development in the waste and energy sector.

Niranjan has over 30 years’ experience in the waste management sector having worked in the private, local and national government sectors. He has advised many authorities which undertook path-finding procurement projects with consultant AEA Technology. In 2003 Niranjan joined Cornwall Council to help deliver their integrated waste (PFI) contract seeing it successfully to closure in October 2006.

Niranjan’s academic qualifications are in chemistry and he is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management.
