Welcome to my blog
Hello and welcome to my blog.
At the outset, I should say that I intend to use this facility as an opportunity to comment (and hopefully, discuss) my observations on the many and diverse projects that I see pass through their various life-cycles here at Local Partnerships. I also want to comment on the common problems that we see with business cases, plans and programmes. Perhaps I may provide a little bit of an insight on what it is like to be privileged enough to lead a small and (nearly) perfectly-formed team of dynamic and demanding experts. If only we were perfect. Sometimes we get things wrong… I hope to be able to discuss our “opportunities for improvement” too.
The views expressed on this blog are my own. I expect that they will rarely stray into controversy, but it is very important that you understand that anything that is published here is my own view alone. I do not speak for Local Partnerships, its employees, clients or our Board. I intend no offence and will remove anything that causes a problem. And stating the (hopefully) obvious, I absolutely do not intend divulging any confidences or identifying specific individuals, unless I have very clear and explicit consent.
With that in mind, however, there is no point in blogging if it is to state the already-obvious. I don’t intend to use the facility as an extension of our – already very professional and successful – marketing and business development machinery. I intend to use this blog as a way to cover, informally, our progress as an organisation that speaks at least four languages – central government, local government, private sector and common sense! Oh! And Welsh! Of course, we also speak Welsh! Cyfarchion, Cymrodyr Cymreig! (Trust an accountant not to be able to count…)
I will try to make sure there is a fortnightly update. However, sometimes I may write my thoughts a little more (or a little less) frequently. The best way to keep up will be to follow me on twitter at @LP_SeanHanson where I will post links to any updates.
Finally, please get in touch by using the comments or by messaging me on twitter. And if you have anything you would like me to cover, please make a suggestion. I will do my very best to try to respond with something coherent (or to find someone who can explain things better than me)!
Tan y tro nesaf! (Until next time!)
