Local Partnerships sponsors the District Councils’ Network annual conference
Local Partnerships was thrilled to be a sponsor of the District Councils’ Network annual conference, and attended and spoke at the conference on 23 and 24 February.
The annual conference, set at the scenic Sopwell House in St Albans, welcomed Leaders, Chief Executives, and other senior representatives from member councils and partner organisations to discuss the challenges and opportunities local government is currently facing.
District Councils are the backbone of our economy and often unsung heroes in the wider political landscape.
Adele Gritten, our chief executive, chaired a panel on delivering net zero and green growth. She was joined in the discussion by: Chris Hammond, Network Membership Director at UK100; Cllr Susan Brown, Leader of Oxford City Council and Cllr Johnny Denis, Cabinet Member for Communities and Customers at Lewes District Council.
Adele said of the event “It was a pleasure and privilege to chair a panel on net zero and green growth at the DCN conference in St Albans 23-24 February. Equally great to catch up with former colleagues and make some new friends, including the chief executives of Wyre Forest and Breckland District Council! District Councils are the backbone of our economy and often unsung heroes in the wider political landscape. I very much hope we can extend the Local Partnerships offer to many district councils as part of our five year business plan. Our Climate, Commercial and Place focus is all entirely relevant to what these councils do. We are in a unique position to be able to offer relevant capacity and capability services to a part of the public sector experiencing an increasing demand for support services.”
