Greener Primary Care Wales Drives Climate Action with Local Partnerships

Local Partnerships worked with the Public Health Wales team to support them in reviewing and rolling out the Greener Primary Care Wales Framework & Award Scheme, which was launched in June 2022.
Local Partnerships climate team collaborated with Greener Champions to raise awareness of the Framework & Awards across Wales.
Wales was the first parliament in the world to declare a climate emergency. Therefore, the Greener Primary Care Wales framework and award scheme were designed to assist primary care in reducing its environmental impact and collectively achieving the net-zero Wales ambition.
Targeted at general practices, community pharmacies, primary care dental surgeries, and optometry practices, the aim is to take action to mitigate the harmful effects of climate change in Wales. Registering with the Greener Primary Care Wales framework and award scheme, grants access to a variety of actions tailored to suit the needs and interests of the practice’s circumstances.
