In 2023, Robert Mansfield joined the Data Analytics team at Local Partnerships as a Data Analyst. In this role, he assists each department in better understanding their data and gaining valuable insights into each project.
Robert has had a varied career path before joining Local Partnerships. After completing university, he became a Field Geophysicist, working in different countries around the world and collecting Lidar, magnetic, and gravity data. His subsequent role was as a Processing Geophysicist, specializing in processing seismic data within the Depth/Time domains and creating images for oil and gas exploration.
He then transitioned to the role of an Interpretation Geophysicist, utilizing his understanding of seismic interpretation and geological structures to identify potential oil and gas reserves. He delivered these findings to clients from government entities and oil companies. Robert later pursued a career as a Science Teacher in a secondary school, specializing in physics, and eventually became second in the department. Additionally, he led STEM activities in the school and facilitated the transition of students from primary to secondary science.
Robert studied for an MGeoscience in Geology and Geography at Keele University. He obtained his Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and further completed a PGCE at Sussex University.
