Michael O’Doherty
Michael O’Doherty has held several senior roles in housing, central and local government over 25 years and has also provided private sector consultancy services. He is now Head of Housing Delivery at Local Partnerships.
He has extensive project and programme management experience and is a Prince 2 qualified practitioner. He has managed several major change and service re-design programmes and is a qualified business analyst.
In addition to One Public Estate, Michael’s career has included the following roles: Housing Development Manager at a Southwest local authority, Head of Service roles at Tameside and Knowsley Councils, Assistant Director of Housing at Manchester City Council and Assistant Director of Environment at GMCA, leading low carbon housing, buildings and retrofit programmes. He has significant governance, risk and Board level experience, currently as a NED Board Member for Wythenshawe Community Housing Group and as Governor of a local primary school in Greater Manchester.
Michael has a first-class honours degree in Social Policy, an MSc in Quantity Surveying and postgraduate diplomas in Housing and Management studies. He has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing for over 25 years.
