Gweithio gyda’n gilydd : culture, collaboration and community in Wales

It was a pleasure to meet the First Minister of Wales and the Leader of Plaid Cymru this week at the Wrecsam National Eisteddfod, a festival which is a wonderful celebration of Welsh culture, art and language. I was delighted to share the successes we have helped our clients in Wales achieve with them both.  

As a public sector delivery partner, jointly owned by the Welsh Government, the Local Government Association and HM Treasury, we’re alert to how vital devolution is to the Welsh administration. At Local Partnerships, we are proud of the achievements we have directly supported across the Welsh public sector.  

We facilitate change by working impartially and collaboratively across all parts of the public sector, providing direct support in delivering value and efficacy to the public purse.  

Our impact includes: 

• delivering infrastructure worth £1bn through the Mutual Investment Model (MIM) 

• established Ynni Cymru and awarded £10m in capital grants to 32 community energy projects in 2024/25 

• the Welsh Government Energy Service, where Local Partnerships is a delivery partner, supported public bodies and community groups to secure a record £107.7m in grant and loan funding in 2024/25 to support energy efficiency, low carbon heat, renewable energy and low carbon fleet projects 

• helped establish Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru to unlock the renewable energy potential of Wales 

Our work allows us to work across all parties, and we continue to support Welsh communities in the run up to the Welsh elections next year and thereafter. Working solely for the public sector, including local authorities, the Welsh Government and Local Health Boards, we’ve been supporting and accelerating the delivery of major infrastructure, resource efficiency, renewable energy and housing projects. We also work with authorities to develop their commercial capabilities.
