Launch of Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru: A New Era for Renewable Energy in Wales
Last Monday, some of our team, Howel, Julie, Rhys and Victoria Camp attended the much-anticipated launch of Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru, the newly established state-owned company dedicated to accelerating renewable energy projects on public estates in Wales.
This initiative, which we have supported the Welsh Government in establishing, marks a significant milestone in Wales’ journey towards sustainable energy.
Our involvement ranged from drafting the outline business case and identifying a pipeline of potential projects to recruiting the senior team.
The launch event took place in Bryncynon, a former mining community in the South Wales Valleys. This location is emblematic of the type of community that stands to benefit from retaining the value of renewable energy projects locally. Jeremy Miles, the Cabinet Secretary for Energy, Economy, and the Welsh Language, hosted the event, highlighting the government’s commitment to renewable energy and local development. Richard Evans was appointed Chief Executive of Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru last year, underscoring the expertise and dedication driving this initiative.
As Wales navigates political changes, the commitment to renewable energy remains steadfast. The establishment of Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru and the continued support for energy initiatives signal a promising future for sustainable development in Wales.
