FREE WEBINAR: Large Sites – Local Partnerships Case Study
Our large sites webinar will talk through the opportunities, and lessons learned, around the delivery of large, strategic sites, with a particular focus on how councils can play an effective strategic role, working with the private sector.
As a case study, we will be highlighting the largest housing regeneration project in the country – Wirral Waters. This transformational scheme is being delivered by Peel, and the first phase of 500 homes is now complete. Wirral Waters is transforming the left bank of the River Mersey into an internationally recognisable destination, including the development of up to 13,000 homes, 20 million sq ft of mixed use floor space, the planting of 1,500 native trees, opening up and enhancing 25 miles of beautiful coastline, and creating 20,000 permanent jobs.Speaking at the webinar will be:
Richard Mawdsley, Director of Development for Wirral Waters, who has led the scheme from conception to delivery.
Martin Walker, Senior Director at Local Partnerships, who led the successful bid for Housing Improvement Fund grant, on behalf of Wirral Council (and working closely with Peel and Homes England).
The webinar will cover areas such as how councils can work with both public and private sector partners to enable the delivery of large sites, lessons to be learned from the Wirral Waters experience, and provide a unique insight from a commercial developer perspective, leading the successful delivery of the country’s largest housing regeneration project.View the other webinars in the HOUSING SUPPORT series
