Dorset Councils creates customer transformation plan with Local Partnerships
Dorset Customer Transformation
Dorset, a beautiful county located on the south coast of England, is home to approximately 350,000 residents and around 170,000 households. Dorset Council was created by bringing together six councils as one. This gave the new council a great opportunity to “embed digital at the heart of the new organisation and do things differently”. With this in mind, Local Partnerships and Dorset Council have co-produced a business case for council-wide transformation.
The Local Partnerships team of experts worked closely with Dorset Council to understand their transformation needs. This was done by helping to set out a vision for future transformation, based on design principles developed by collaboratively working with the council. Throughout the process, we worked with the council to ensure wide buy-in, and a future approach that met the specific needs and circumstances of the council.
Sarah-Joy Lewis, Director, Local Partnerships said of the project
It was great to build a collaborative relationship with the council. This enabled us to work together as a single team for the good of Dorset’s residents
The business case for the transformation programme, was approved by Cabinet in November and will allow the council to deliver new ways of working and produce savings for Dorset council at the same time.
